In this webinar, Dr. Susan Hyman discusses why individuals with autism have food selectivity, what kinds of problems food selectivity can lead to, how a proper diet can impact behavior, and evidence for dietary treatments for symptoms of autism. Who is Susan Hyman?
Susan Hyman, M.D., is a developmental and behavioral pediatrician. She is also a professor of pediatrics at the Golisano Children’s Hospital at the University of Rochester. She sees children and young adults with autism through the Levine Autism Clinic, where her clinical research focuses on diet and nutrition, medical care, and interventions related to autism. She is on the executive committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Children with Disabilities and the subboard of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics of the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a co-principal investigator at the Rochester site of the Autism Speaks Autism Treatment Network.
