In this webinar, which will take place October 28, 2024 at 12:00 PM Eastern time, Robin Kochel, Ph.D., will provide a brief overview of regulatory processes that govern research activities, describe different types of studies and how to evaluate whether a research opportunity is right for you, and explain why families’ participation in research is so valuable.
Who is Robin Kochel?
Robin Kochel, Ph.D., is a research psychologist at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital. She received master’s degrees in Child & Family Studies and Clinical Investigation from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and Baylor College of Medicine, respectively, and her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her expertise is in the study of children with autism and related genetic conditions. Since 2008, Dr. Kochel has served as site-PI for three Simons Foundation network projects, each yielding critical insights into the genetic mechanisms of autism. Her involvement in these network projects have also contributed to her specific programs of research on parent perceptions about autism and their influence on health-related behaviors, causes and consequences of developmental regression in autism, and emergent vaccine hesitancy resulting from concerns about autism.
