Who is Natasha Nelson?
Natasha Nelson is the Founder and CEO of Supernova Parenting Foundation, a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to advancing disability justice and empowering caregivers in communities of color. A decorated U.S. Army veteran, Natasha blends her seven years of military leadership with deep expertise as a Certified Positive Discipline Educator and National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Family Support Group Facilitator. Her work is trusted by families, educators, and organizations seeking practical, neuro-affirming solutions for neurodivergence, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and mental health challenges.
Natasha serves as ECHO Autism Georgia Stat Early Diagnostic Model Family Advocate and partners with leading institutions such as Marcus Autism Center, Children’s Hospital of Atlanta, and Emory School of Medicine. She has delivered keynote talks and workshops at national conferences—including the Positive Discipline Association Annual Conference and Autism in Black—and appears in the acclaimed Georgia Tech documentary “Navigating Autism in Communities of Color.”
Drawing from her lived experience as a neurodivergent individual and mother of two autistic daughters, Natasha translates complex research on child development and socialization into real-world strategies for inclusion and equity. Recognized by the Association of University Centers on Disabilities and the Autistic Self Advocacy Network, she is a respected voice on disability, neurodiversity, and mental health, known for her candid, solution-focused approach to transforming organizational culture.
