Webinar: Do Implicit Racial Biases Matter in Autism?

Date Published: July 29, 2021

In this recorded webinar, Dr. Brian Boyd provides an overview of relevant implicit bias research and presents preliminary data examining the effects of implicit biases on racial and ethnic disparities in service access for autistic children. Implicit racial biases refer to involuntary, mental processes whereby certain attributes are associated with particular racial groups (e.g., stereotype formation). Implicit biases among healthcare professionals are suggested sources of racial disparities in autism identification and diagnosis.
