Autistic individuals have a wide range of strengths and abilities that are often overlooked. This webinar will highlight research on strengths in autistic adults, including findings on self-reported and informant-reported strengths, cognitive profiles, and perceived benefits and challenges associated with autism-related features. Linnea Lampinen will discuss how strengths-based perspectives can help families, professionals, and autistic individuals recognize abilities, build confidence, and create opportunities for meaningful participation and success.
Who is Linnea Lampinen?
Linnea Lampinen is a fourth-year Clinical Psychology Ph.D. student at Rutgers University working with Dr. Vanessa Bal. Linnea’s research is dedicated to improving how autism is understood and supported in adulthood, with a focus on strengthening diagnostic assessment practices and promoting mental health for autistic adults. She is especially passionate about highlighting the strengths and abilities of autistic individuals, and exploring how strengths-based approaches can be better integrated into clinical practice.
